LAHORE: In a rare action against street criminals, Lahore police recovered the looted amount from robbers and handed it to owners, including cricketer Umar Akmal, whose house was robbed some months ago, ARY News reported.
Robbers had made off with Rs 1.9 million from Umar Akmal’s residence in Defence, Lahore some months ago. SP CID Umar Wark told media that police had recovered considerable amount and articles looted by robbers in different incidents.
Police recovered Rs 0.9 million from a female robber, accused of robbing Akmal's house and handed over the amount to him.
The cricketer praised the city police for their action.
