University in Karachi offers students to attempt exam from mosque during Aitekaf

KARACHI: A private university in Karachi has introduced an unprecedented provision for its student sitting for Aitekaf (worship in seclusion) a chance to give exam from the mosque.

Mohammad Ali Jinnah University (MAJU) has released a circular for its students asking them to fill out an application form containing student ID, name, department, teacher and complete address of the mosque.

This is the notification issued by the varsity.

ARYNews.tv contacted the university official and he confirmed that the alma mater has given this provision for the first time to students to attempt exam from the mosque under supervision of a team.

He said a team of invigilators will be sent to the respective mosque to take exam of a student.

Aitekaf is observed during the last 10 days of Ramazan. Aitekaf worship normally requires a Muslim to seclude himself from worldly activities and desires. The Muslim secludes himself to a mosque for a specific number of days (the prescribed is last 10 days of Ramazan) and does not engage with the rest of the world.
