Not unlawful to hold talks with Taliban: Pervaiz Rasheed

LAHORE: Pervaiz Rasheed, Federal Minister for Information, has said that its not unlawful to hold talks with Taliban, ARY News reports.

In a press conference here in Lahore on Friday, Pervaiz Rasheed said that the peace talks with Taliban are being held for peace and to stop their atrocities in the state. He added that the United States is holding talks with Afghanistan as well.

"Holding talks is a way of bringing peace in the country", he said.

Information Minister stated that former President General Pervez Musharraf is getting trapped despite paying heavy fees to his lawyers.

Speaking on the Local Bodies Elections in Pakistan, he said that all parties want to hold the municipal polls. "It is the duty of the provincial governments to hold the elections", he added.
