Unmoved on PM’s resignation demand, PTI agrees again for talks

The decision in this regard was taken in a core committee meeting of the PTI. Shah Mehmood Qureshi contacted the Governor Punjab Chaudhary Muhammad Sarwar.

The core committee, however, said it would not compromise on its demand for resignation of the prime minister. The meeting also included Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtonkhwa Pervez Khattak into the committee tasked with negotiating with the government.

Earlier, PTI submitted resignations of its lawmakers from the National Assembly to the NA Secretariat.

PTI vice chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi and the party’s MNA from Karachi Arif Alvi submitted the resignations to the speaker’s office today.

Secretary National Assembly Mohammad Riaz received the sealed envelope as Speaker Ayaz Sadiq was not present in his office.

PTI had announced to submit resignations of its 34 MNAs to protest against alleged irregularities in 2013 general elections.
