Urdu language classes introduced in France

PARIS: Urdu language learning classes have been launched in France for French students of Pakistani origin and students of other nationalities, Radio Pakistan reported. 

Pakistan’s embassy in France in partnership with a French non-governmental organization ‘Together for Human Development’ formally introduced the initiative in Paris on Sunday.

Urdu language classes was a long-standing demand of the Pakistan community which was finally met by the joint efforts of the Embassy and the NGO.

On the other, in order to promote the national language, the Pakistani Senate in May passed a resolution that seeks to allow Central Superior Services (CSS) aspirants to take their exams in Urdu as well.

The resolution stated that China, Japan and other countries developed because of the use of their national language in exams. “We can also progress by holding the CSS exams in Urdu.”
