US Congress recommends $65 mln aid to Pakistan for anti-terror war

WASHINGTON: United States Congress has recommended aid of $65 million to Pakistan for the war against terrorism in its 2016 budget, ARY News reports.

According to US Department of Defence, the aim of extending support to Pakistan is to help the country in the fight against terrorism. The aid will be utilized to enhance the skills of Pakistan Army, Navy and Air Force.

The financial support to the Pakistani armed forces will promote cooperation between the militaries of the two countries.

It should be noted that Pakistan remains a key ally of the US since the country launched war against terrorism in 2001.
