US express condolence over loss of life in Lahore suicide attack

ISLAMABAD: United States has condemned the Lahore suicide blast which claimed the lives of at least 13 people on Monday evening, ARY News reported.

At least 13 people, including two top police officers of Punjab, were killed and around 108 people were injured in a suicide attack during protests staged by chemists at Lahore’s Mall Road.

Acting spokesman of US States Department Mark Toner said that United States stands with Pakistan in the war against terrorism.

He said that terrorists targeted peaceful protesters and security personnel in the attack. He added that US is committed for peace in the region.

Toner stated that United States will continue to cooperate with Pakistan in its fight against terrorism.

The state department spokesman expressed his condolences to families of the deceased and sympathy to those injured.
