US, Pakistan working together for regional peace: Kerry

WASHINGTON: United States Secretary of State John Kerry after meeting Pakistan Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali has said that Pakistan and US are working jointly for peace in the region, ARY News reported.

Talking to media, Kerry also lauded Pakistan’s efforts to wipe out terrorists and terrorism and its top leadership’s co-operation in counter terrorism operations.

Kerry also praised Prime Minister of Pakistan and Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif for their commitment to democracy in the country and their efforts to strengthen it.

The US secretary of State maintained that Pakistan and US face many challenges in the future and both countries are looking forward for cooperative effort on the economy as well as in counter-terrorism and democracy building.

Chaudhry Nisar Speaks

Pakistan’s Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar on the occasion claimed that relations between US and Pakistan have always been good.

Nisar added that  both the United States and Pakistan are working very, very closely not only in the area of counter-terrorism, but also in the economy and in bringing about sanity and peace in the region.
