Sindh govt bans use of cell phones in schools

TOP NEWS

The decision was taken in view of the security threats in schools.

Suspension of cellular networks during law and order situations often brings the PPP-led government under fire for adopting steps tantamount to trampling upon rights of citizens.

During PPP tenure from 2008 to 2013 in the country, the then interior minister Rehman Malik initiated the move of mobile networks suspension citing it with ‘ensuring security of people’ when terror attacks were more rampant.

The PPP government, whose government has now been reduced to Sindh after the elections 2013, took another measure in Sindh, but this time banning even the use of cell phones.

The education minister of Sindh said teachers and students would not be allowed during school hours to use the cell phone.
