VIDEO: Indian minister asks security officer to buckle his sandals, says ‘I am VIP’

NEW DELHI: An Indian minister was captured on camera asking his security officer to buckle his sandals at an Independence Day event in Kendujhar yesterday, reported the ANI.

According to the video shared by the Indian news agency, Odisha minister Yogendra Behara is seen asking his personal security officer to bend down and buckle his sandals.

Later, the media asked the minister about his act. He justified the action saying, “I am a VIP.”


In May 2015, the then West Bengal planning and implementation minister Rachpal Singh was caught on camera getting his shoelaces tied by a policeman. At the time, the opposition parties in the state said it was an insult to “human dignity”.
