Violence claims eight lives in megapolis

KARACHI: Firing and violence incidents in Karachi have claimed nine lives on Monday, ARY News reported.

According to police‚ sub-inspector of forensic division was gunned down near Nagan Chowrangi Police station while a political worker, who later identified as Afroze was shot dead by unknown armed men in F.B. Area, Karachi.                                   

In another incident the dean of medicine in Medical and Dental College Professor Dr. Jawed Iqbal Qazi lost his life‚ when unidentified gunmen opened fire on his vehicle in North Nazimabad. His driver was injured in the attack.                                      

Pakistan Medical Association strongly condemned the killing of Dr. Jawed Iqbal Qazi and demanded for the arrest of culprits involved in the killing.                                  

Two dead bodies were recovered from Lyari, a man was killed in Ancholi while a tortured dead body was recovered from Model colony.

On the other hand Rangers conducted targeted raids in different areas of the city arresting eight criminals‚ including members of banned outfits.                     

A large quantity of arms and ammunition was also recovered.                       

Police arrested a criminal of Gang war, Saeed Billa allegedly involved in several criminal activities from Lyari.
