Volte-face: BCB says 'no flag ban was imposed'

TOP NEWS

DHAKA: The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) did an about-turn over flag ban controversy and now it has allowed supporters to brandish flags of any team they support, ARY News reported Thursday.

The pressure was mounting on the BCB from International Cricket Council (ICC), local fans and international media after it banned supporters from carrying flags of rival countries in an ongoing World T20. The ICC had also sought clarification from the BCB when it clamped a flag ban.

The latest BCB statement said no ban was imposed on supporters to carry flag of rival countries. It said only local supporters were asked not to bring and fly large-sized flags and avoid using foul language against opponent teams.

The BCB said the entire episode was wrong interpreted.
