Holding a joint press conference here, Mufti Muhammad Naeem, Maulana Ubaidullah Khalid and others strongly condemned the bar on the admission of foreign students in seminaries.
Mufti Naeem said that there are almost 40 lac local and foreign students acquiring education at 23000 seminaries affiliated with the Wafaqul Madaris and a chaos is persisting among them over government’s decision.
He said that it was decided under the National Action Plan that madressa reforms will be introduced after taking madaris administration into confidence, but things were done on the contrary.
They said that a self-made committee forwarded the report to the prime minister without consulting the administration of seminaries.
They demanded the government to lift the ban on admissions, or else a future strategy will soon be announced regarding the matter.
