Waqar Younis stated that Haroon Rasheed doesn’t know the basics of team selection and used to complete the team while undermining the future.

The former head coach went on to state Rasheed used to influence the selection of the team. Younis went on to state that 39-year old Rafatullah Mohmand was included in the side despite his opposition.

Younis said that he had suggested the selectors to bring back Salman Butt in the team but Afridi refused to do so. He also mentioned that he opposed the selection of Younis Khan in one day but Rasheed selected him after coming under pressure.

The former head coach had recommended Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to excluded Ahmed Shehzad and Umar Akmal in the report. He had opposed the board’s decision of recalling Shehzad in the side for the World Twenty20.

The complete content of Younis’ report on the team’s performance was unveiled today.
