Waqar Younis appointed head coach Pakistan team

LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has appointed former cricketer Waqar Younis as head coach Pakistan team on a two-year contract, ARY News reported.

The PCB took the decision following a 3-member coach-finding committee’s recommendations. The PCB has also notified the decision.

Waqar, who coached Pakistan in 2010 and 2011 before resigning on health and personal grounds, had again expressed his willingness for the post after his previous application was rejected in early February by the then PCB coach-finding committee.

He will join the Pakistan team next month.
