KARACHI: On World Kidney Day, Mayor Karachi Waseem Akhtar Thursday inaugurated Karachi Institute of Kidney in Federal B. area of the metropolis.

Addressing the inauguration ceremony, Akhtar said it is a matter of pleasure that this kidney center was established despite very limited resources.

Expressing resentment, he said a rich person can board a plane to London for his medical treatment, but a poor man is being hustled on roads.

“If good medical facilities are provided to people then all ground-level corruption will end.”

He further lamented that a poor citizen can neither afford medical treatment neither can he receive quality education.
