ISLAMABAD: Federal Information Minister Pervez Rasheed revealed on Thursday that suggestions were discussed with Mir Shakeel-ur-Rehman, owner Jang/Geo group owner, for a way out from the situation, ARY News reported.
Talking to media after inquiring about the health of wounded journalist Hamid Mir, the minister said without direct reference to Geo that an apology should be accepted, if a mistake has been committed.
He said the issue pertained to freedom of expression instead of Geo TV.
Rasheed reiterated that Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (Pemra) was an independent body and entitled to take decisions.
He said his family enjoyed good relations with Hamid Mir’s family.
