KARACHI: As semi-final stage of the World T20 have drawn near, the Indian media have come up with a report, alleging some matches of the World Cup 2011 were fixed; a move which is seen by experts as an attempt to intimidate other teams in the ongoing World T20 in Bangladesh, ARY News reported Tuesday.
According to The Daily Mail, the International Cricket Council (ICC) had got proofs of fixing in some of the WC 2011 matches. However, the paper had not cited any credible source to attest to its truth.
ICC's Anti-Corruption and Security Unit (ACSU) has prepared a 41-page report on the WC 2011 fixing, added the report.
The cricketing circles, however, have rejected such reports, saying it was mere an attempt to intimidate other teams during an ongoing World T20 as India has already qualified for the semi-finals.
