Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has said that a new system of western winds will enter into Pakistan on Monday evening to ease the fatigued people suffering from the scorching weather in some parts of the country.

According to PMD: “the weather would remain extremely hot and dry in most parts of the country during the day, however Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, FATA, Islamabad, Punjab, Gilgit and Baltistan and some parts of Quetta, Zhob, Sibbi, Sukker and Larkana are likely to receive heavy rain and gusty winds from Monday (today) to Thursday after evening.”

Meanwhile, upper Sindh and north-eastern Balochistan are likely to face gusty/ dusty winds. Dusty winds would run from Monday evening to Wednesday in Punjab and KPK. Therefore, farmers need to start cutting wheat and accumulate and then cover them to save them from dust, the weather department advised.

Weather in most parts of the country remained hot and dry during the last 24 hours. The maximum temperature in different parts of the country was recorded as follows: Shaheed Benazirabad 48 °C, Sukker, Pad Eiden, Khanpur, Larkana, Sibbi and Mohenjodaro 46 °C, Raheem Yar Khan, Kot Addu, Noorpur Thal and Dadu 47 °C, Okara, Bhakkar, DG Khan, Bahawalpur, Rohri and Bahawalnagar 45 °C.
