Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, addressing the IDEAS 2014 military exhibition here in Karachi on Monday, said that the threats to national security of Pakistan have multiplied.
He added that the state used to keep in check the situation on its border but now they must also take into account the activities of the non state actors even computer hackers.
The prime minister also said that the country must acquire training to tackle the threats alongwith keep an eye on the fronts.
“We are committed to see a successful conclusion of Zarb-e-Azb military offensive in the tribal belt and the end of terrorism”, he said.
PM Sharif further added that we have to resolve all problems including illiteracy and terrorism in the country. He added that the country must ensure that all its citizens must realize their potential.
He stressed the importance of a modern and well equipped military for the country to defend its territorial integrity and sovereignty.
“Pakistan has proved that defence industry is not the exclusive preserve of the developed world and the country has made a strong position in the respective field”, Sharif said.
“I am sure that the exhibition will continue to grow in the coming years”, he added.
He was accompanied by Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Federal Minister for Trade and Commerce Khurram Dastagir Khan and Minister for Defence Production Rana Tanveer Hussain.
Governor Sindh Dr. Ishratul Ebad Khan was also present in the exhibition.
