Stop WhatsApp groups being used for cheating in exams, BSEK chairman asks FIA

KARACHI: Board of Secondary Education Karachi’s (BSEK) Chairman Prof Dr Saeeduddin on Tuesday asked the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to stop WhatsApp groups being used for unfair means in examinations, ARY News reported.

In a letter to the director FIA, the BSEK chief said complaints were received that solved papers were being provided to students through WhatsApp.

“The FIA should stop all such WhatsApp group,” he said.

On April 1, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah had suspended Sukkur Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education’s (BISE) controller of examination over his failure to stop use of unfair means in the matriculation examination.

A spokesman for the Sindh chief minister had said that the controller of examination was suspended over a report in connection with implementation of examinations’ code of conduct during the SSC examination in Sukkur. The report was presented to the chief minister by Sindh Education Minister Sardar Ali Shah.

Murad Ali Shah had warned of strict action against the concerned officers over complaints of unfair means in the matriculation examination.

Earlier in the day, Sindh Education Minister Syed Sardar Ali Shah had warned of action against those involved in leaking of the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examination paper in Sindh.
