LAHORE: Gullu Butt, a man who mercilessly attacked and vandalized public property under the ‘patronage’ of police during clash with PAT workers yesterday, has left many in bewilderment about his political affiliation, ARY News reported Wednesday.
Butt is a resident of Faisal Town, Lahore; however, the current occupant – maternal uncle – of his house has a different story to tell.
Gullu Butt is considered as a prominent activist of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz and it is believed that Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif calls him Sher-e-Punjab (Loin of Punjab). Butt not only vandalized cars outside Mihaj Secretariat in Model Town, but was also seen leading the police team and issuing them instructions frequently during the PAT-police clash.
However, his maternal uncle says that he is mentally ill. The question remains unanswered if Butt is mentally unstable, how did the police kept on complying his directives and no one dared to stop him?
