PESHAWAR: World Health Organization (WHO) has declared Peshawar as the hub of polio virus in the world today, ARY News reports.
Out of the 91 cases of polio in Pakistan last year, 83 cases were reported from Peshawar. Virus was found in the sewerage samples of the city whereas the deadly virus has been found in all of the samples taken from Peshawar in the past six months.
According to reports, 65 children were crippled due to polio in Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) last year.
