WI records their biggest T20I win as Pakistan all out for 82

MIRPUR: West Indies has defeated Pakistan by 84 runs on Tuesday at Shere Bangla National Stadium, Mirpur, which is their biggest win in a T20I on Tuesday, ARY News reported.

Pakistan's batting line up failed to tackle WI's bowling attack and bowled out for 82 in 17.5 overs.

There was the big difference between the batting of Pakistan and West Indies, as Pakistan have been bowled out for the same number of runs (82) that WI scored in their final five overs.

Chasing 167, both the opening batsmen of Pakistan went for duck. 

Skipper Mohammad Hafeez played a lazy inning of 19 runs. He played 32 balls with the strike rate of 59.37 having no boundary.

Sohail Tanvir scored 14 while Shoaib Maqssod and Shahid Afridi made 18 runs each.

West Indies spinning-duo Samuel Badree and Sunil Narine took 3 wickets each.

Earlier, West Indies set the target of 167 runs after their captain Darren Sammy, winning the toss chose to bat.

Pakistan struck early getting rid of Chris Gayle (5) in the third followed by Dwayne Smith's wicket (8) in the very next over but Lendl Simmons contributed well playing watchful inning of 31 runs that came in 29 balls.

Afterwards, some late hitting from Dwayne Bravo, who scored 46 in 26 balls hitting 2 fours and 4 sixes and Darren Sammy’s quick 42 with the strike rate of 210.00 allows West Indies to score 166 in allotted 20 overs.

The victory makes West Indies through to the semi-final, where they will play Sri Lanka on April 3 for a place in the World T20 final.

Meanwhile, Pakistan remained unsuccessful to maintain their record of always making the semi-finals in the World T20.
