KARACHI: Provincial Education Minister, Nisar Khuhro has extended the winter vacations in all the schools and colleges in Sindh till January 8 – ARY News reports.
According to details, the decision was made in realm of extra-ordinary cold weather persisting in Karachi and adjacent areas. Air currents from Quetta entered into Karachi a couple of days ago, chilling the people here up to 4 degree Celsius.
Due to immense cold atmosphere, parents requested the authorities saying that the children are unable to go to schools in such weather.
At first, the request for extending vacations was turned down, but today the Education Minister came up with this pleasant news to extend the holidays from January 2nd to 8th.
He elaborated that winter holidays have been extended upon the request of the parents.
Earlier, the provincial government had announced vacations from December 22nd to 31st.
However, the federal educational institutes in Sindh will remain open as per schedule.
