Worker’s arrest: MQM to hold important press conference today
KARACHI: Mutahidda Qaumi Movement chief Altaf Hussain will hold an important telephonic press conference today from London at party headquarters Nine Zero in Karachi, ARY News reported.
The press conference is, supposedly, being held in connection with the arrest of MQM worker, Fahad, last night who was arrested during his wedding ceremony in Shah Faisal area.
Source said that MQM might announce its protest strategy during a press conference.
The MQM has also demanded the government to make changes in top Sindh police ranks.
Shortly after the arrest, MQM Rabita Committee members among other party workers and victim’s family staged a protest sit-in at Chief Minister House and threatened to continue protest until the arrested worker was released.
Earlier, they had also protested outside Karachi Press Club.
The arrested worker was later shifted to a nearby private hospital as he had fallen ill.
On the other side, police said that Fahad was required to them in different cases of crime. Additional IG Karachi Shahid Hayat Khan also announced cash award and certificate to the police party who arrested the MQM worker.
