World T20: Australia set Windies target of 179 to win

DHAKA: Australia have set West Indies a target of 179 runs to win in their Super 10 match of the ICC World T20 2014 at Sher-e-Bangla Stadium at Mirpur on Friday (today), ARY News reports.

Australian captain George Bailey won the toss and put his side to bat first in the match.

Batting first, Australia scored 178/8 in their allotted 20 overs. Glenn Maxwell, continuing his rampant form in the tournament, was the top scorer for the team with 45 runs from 22 balls which included five fours and three sixes. Brad Hodge scored 35 runs from 26 balls whereas opener David Warner made 20 runs 14 balls.

Samuel Badree, Marlon Samuels and Sunil Narine took three wickets each whereas Krishmar Santokie and Dwayne Brave dismissed one batsman each.
