World T20: India continue World Cup dominance over Pakistan

DHAKA: India continued their World Cup dominance over Pakistan as they defeated the Green Shirts by seven wickets in their World T20 encounter at Sher-e-Bangla stadium at Mirpur on Friday, ARY News reports.

Earlier, Pakistan was invited to bat first after India won the toss.

Pakistan made 130/7 in their alloted 20 overs. Umar Akmal was the stand out player for the Green Shirt as he made 33 runs whereas Ahmed Shehzad made 22 runs. Ahmed Shehzad contributed 21 runs for the team.

Amit Mishra was the pick of the bowlers as he took two wickets whereas Ravindra Jadeja, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Mohammad Shami grabbed a wicket each.

India chased 131 runs with ease as they reached the target in 18.3 overs. Virat Kohli was the stand out batsman for the team as he made 36 runs from 32 balls whereas Suresh Raina made 35 runs for the Blue Shirts. Opener Shikhar Dhawan scored 30 runs for the team.

Pakistani bowlers Umar Gul, Saeed Ajmal and Bilawal Bhatti took one wicket each.

The Green Shirts still haven't beaten India in a cricket World Cup yet.
