World T20: Pakistan beats New Zealand in the warm-up

MIRPUR: Pakistan has beaten New Zealand by 6 wickets in the warm-up match of World T20 on Monday, ARY News reported.

New Zealand won the toss and elected to bat first at Shere Bangla National Stadium, Mirpur.

New Zealand's skipper Brendon McCullum played sensational inning scoring unbeaten 59 off 45 balls.

Colin Murno was the only other contributor from KiwiS, he made 20 runs.

With the combined effort of the two batsmen, New Zealand set the target of 146.

Umar Gul bowled a wonderful bowling spell, who took 3-wicket conceding 16 runs only.

Mohammad Talha took two wickets but remained expensive giving away 22 runs in his 3-over spell.

Kamran Akmal and Mohammad Hafeez jointly added 83 runs to control Pakistan's chase soon after the dismissal of Sharjeel Khan, who scored 12 off 9 balls.

Kamran Akmal retired himself out after scoring 52 runs that came off 45 balls comprising six 4s and two 6s.

Hafeez played a handsome knock of 55 runs. He smashed five 6s and three 4s.

Shoaib Maqsood made 16 runs to bring Pakistan home with 1 ball to spare.
