World’s oldest man discovered in Indonesia
Mbah Gotho claims that he has documentation to proof that he was born in 1870. He has outlived all 10 of his siblings, his four wives and his children.
He said that he had a gravestone made for himself in 1992 and was preparing for his death but was still alive even after 24 years.
However, he has no desire to live any further and want to die. For the past three months, he has become frail and needs to bathed and spoon-fed.
The Indonesian records office has verified the document of his age and said that his date of birth is confirmed to be 31st December, 1870.
If proven then he would be the oldest person ever. The title was currently held by 122-year-old Jeanne Calment of France. This makes her 23 years old younger than Gotho.
The centenarian from Central Java says that he spends his time listening to the radio as his eyesight is no longer good enough to watch television.
When asked the secret to a long life, he said: “The recipe is just patience”
