Youm-e-Ali being observed with fervour, reverence amid strict security
KARACHI: The martyrdom day of Hazrat Ali (AS) – Youm-e-Ali – is being observed across the country with religious fervour and reverence amid tight security.
Mourning processions are being taken out in various cities of the country to mark the day.
The M.A. Jinnah Road of Karachi has been blocked for traffic while heavy police contingents deployed along the main route of the Youm-e-Ali procession in the city.
The Sindh government had issued notifications on Thursday banning pillion riding on motorcycle and the use of heli-cam for media coverage on the occasion.
As many as 5,570 police personnel have been deployed across the city to ensure security of the participants of the mourning processions and gatherings.
The central procession in Karachi will be taken out from Nishtar Park and will be concluded at Hussainian Iranian Imambargah in Kharadar.
