According to Young Doctors Association (YDA) Pakistan official page on Facebook, the strike is being carried out to protest against the violence allegedly carried out by Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) members of National Assembly (MNAs) and heirs of patients in Lahore General Hospital and sacking of a doctor.

YDA frequently carry out strikes for doctors’ rights, specially in Punjab.

They demanded immediate legal action against PML-N MNAs and reinstatement of the doctor who had been dismissed in Sargodha.

Protesting doctors have warned to widen the scope of the strike, given that their demands were not met.

The doctors association has completely shut down emergency departments of Sargodha and General Hospital Lahore, hence causing immense hardships for the patients.
