Younis Khan drops to sixth spot in test rankings

International Cricket Council (ICC) released its new test rankings after the riveting first test between Pakistan and England.

Younis Khan fell one place down to number six in the test rankings. Apart from the leading test run scorer for Pakistan, no other green shirts batsman is in the top ten.

Steve Smith of Australia leads the batsmen’s rankings followd by England’s Joe Root and A.B. de Villiers of South Africa.

Proteas’ pace spearhead Dale Steyn is at top of the bowlers’ ranking while England’s Stuart Broad and James Anderson are at number two and three respectively.

Yasir Shah is at fifth place in the test rankings.

Shakib Al Hasan of Bangladesh leads the all rounders’ rankings followed by India’s Ravi Ashwin and Vernon Philander of South Africa.

Mohammad Hafeez is placed at No.6.

South Africa is the top test team in the world at the moment followed by Australia and England.

Pakistan is ranked fifth in the test rankings.
