Some masked motorbike riders soaked Nauman Maseeh 16 with kerosene oil and set him on fire, in a market in Gulshan-e-Ravi area of Lahore. The victim got serious burn injuries in the incident and was admitted at Mayo Hospital of the city.
After fighting for a number of days in hospital Nauman succumbed to his injuries in hospital today.
Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif had called report of the burning incident from DIG Police (Operations) Dr. Haider Ashraf.
The area police on the complaint of the victim’s uncle Nadeem, registered FIR against unidentified accused.
The maternal grandfather of the victim, however, told the police that Nauman was burnt by his uncle Nadeem over a property dispute.
The body of the deceased youth has been transferred to a morgue as police investigating into the case from different angles.
