YouTube ban: Court seeks assistance of PTA experts

TOP NEWS

LAHORE: The Lahore High Court on Thursday sought assistance of Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) experts in YouTube ban case, ARY News reported.

The hearing of YouTube ban case was conducted by the LHC bench. Petitioner told the court that blasphemous videos had been removed from the video sharing website. “PTA cannot block any video,” added the petitioner. He said children at homes were accessing YouTube through different methods, which implied that government was mere joking on the issue.

The court said if YouTube could be accessed through another means, then imposing a ban on it had no real value.

During the hearing, one of the petitioners, Gul Bukhari, was caught recording the audio of proceedings. The officials seized the recording material and the court also issued her contempt of court notice.
