ISLAMABAD: Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS) Admiral Zafar Mahmood Abbasi has said that it was among duties of Pakistan Navy to adopt highest combat skills besides alongside possessing a strong character, ARY News reported on Monday.
CNS Zafar Mahmood Abbasi attended an event of ‘Naval Chief Open Forum’ organised for chief petty officers (CPOs), sailors and civilians here, Pakistan Navy spokesperson said.
Abbasi urged, “We must have a firm belief that Allah Almighty is enough for us and He is the only guardian.”
The naval chief exhorted that PN has the responsibility to ensure combating skills and techniques besides a strong character.

A briefing was given to the naval chief over ongoing welfare projects and initiatives of Pakistan Navy.
During the event, CNS Abbasi also interacted with the CPOs, sailors and civilian officials and gave detailed answers to their questions.
Zafar Mahmood Abbasi praised high-moral, operational preparedness and professionalism of Pakistan Navy officers amid recent escalation between Pakistan and India.

On March 8, Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Zafar Mahmood Abbasi had visiting forward check posts where he said that Pakistan Navy was fully capable to guard its territorial waters and would give befitting response to any intrusion or aggression.
He said that detection of an Indian submarine near Pakistani waters in time was a testament to Pakistan Navy’s operational preparedness and professionalism.
Zafar Mahmood Abbasi said, “We are a peaceful country and don’t want any hostilities. However, we will give a befitting response if the enemy initiated any such act against us.”
He said, “Our unwavering faith, courage and passion for defending the motherland give strength to our superior capabilities.”
