LAHORE: An anti-terrorism court on Monday handed Zainab rape and murder case convict Imran Arshad a total of five counts of the death penalty and Rs5.75million in fines in two more cases of child sexual abuse, ARY News reported

Imran Arshad, who was already awarded four counts of the death penalty, one life term, 7-year jail term and Rs4.1 million in fines back in February for raping and murdering a seven-year-old girl named Zainab in Kasur, had confessed sexually abusing at least eight minor girls.

The anti-terrorism court today sentenced Imran Arshad to four counts of death penalty in the rape-cum-murder case of a minor girl Iman Fatima and ordered him to pay Rs4million as fine.

In a similar case involving another minor girl Tehmina, the convict Imran Arshad was sentenced to death and was ordered to pay Rs1.5million as fine.

Just on Saturday, anti-terrorism court sentenced Imran Arshad to four counts of death penalty each in the rape and murder case of five-year old Aisha, eight-year-old Laiba and seven-year-old Noor Fatima.He was fined Rs2million each asked to pay Rs1million each as blood money in all three cases.

About Zainab rape, murder case

Kidnapped on January 4 and found from a garbage heap on January 9, Zainab’s autopsy report suggested that the minor was sexually assaulted before being strangulated to death.

On January 21, the Supreme Court gave three days’ time to a joint investigation team formed to probe the rape and murder of Zainab to track down the culprit.

The JIT arrested the culprit named Imran Arshad on January 23 after the DNA proved that he was behind the rape and murder of Zainab and at least eight other girls from Kasur.
