Pakistan jet fighters also bombed hideouts of militants in Miranshah and adjoining localities. According to Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), security forces faced resistance in Miranshah and its connecting villages.
The statement said jet fighters were used in the areas where militants responded with retaliation against armed forces.
Several militants including Uzbek fighters were killed in air strikes. Five hideouts of terrorists along with tunnels used for bomb-making were destroyed in the air offensive of armed forces.
A security personnel was killed during clearance operation in Miranshah in a landmine blast.
