Zardari comes down hard on Imran Khan
MARDAN: Former president and Co-Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Asif Ali Zardari on Monday came down hard on Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan for conceiving himself a Pakhtoon, ARY News reported.
“There is a captain who conceives himself to be a Pakhtoon just because his last name is Khan. While, neither he knows Pashto nor he is an inhabitant of Pakhtoon area,” he said while addressing a public rally in Mardan.
The PPP leader said first of all you need to know Pashto in order to become a Pashtoon then you need to have a family tree of Pahtoon caste.
He also berated Imran for calling himself a leader of youth and said if there was anybody who could be youth’s leader it was his son Chairman PPP Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.
“Albeit, he is four years older than me and he calls himself a leader of students and youth. How can he (such an aged man) be a leader of youth? It is Bilawal who could be young’s leader,” he said.
Referring towards changing of name of the province having majority of Pakhtoons, Zardari boasted that he had given Pakhtoons an identity.
“Nobody has prior to this given Pakhtoons an identity. Pakhtoons know it very well that who gave them identity,” he said.
He said China Pakistan Economic Corridor project had been stolen from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and PPP would give it back to them.
Zardari also lashed out at Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif for misunderstanding court’s verdict in Panama Papers case and said the judges had said, “Your show has culminated now, go Nawaz, go.”
He said none of the five judges had declared Nawaz an innocent person.
