The NAB found Shah involved in massive corruption during his tenure as Sindh agriculture minister from 2008 to 2013. He has now been sentenced to five years in prison.

Similarly another former parliamentarian Imtiaz Ali Shah has been sent behind bars for three years while former MPA Khadim Ali Shah has been sentenced to four years in jail.

After sentence to PPP legislator Ali Nawaz Shah, PPP co-chairperson Asif Ali Zardari has expressed his reservations and alleged that state institutions are being used for political victimization.

He said his party would not tolerate any such treatment. He claimed that Shah had already served his sentence. He warned of protest against ‘unlawful’ actions against Sindh-based PPP leaders.
