ISLAMABAD: A one on one meeting between Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and former president Asif Ali Zardari held at Prime Minister House to discuss the national security and political situation, ARY News reported on Wednesday.

Prime MInister Nawaz Sharif and former President Asif Ali Zardari vowed that no one will be allowed to harm the democratic system. Asif Ali Zardari assured support to Nawaz Sharif during the meeting.

Earlier, a delegation level meeting between the two sides, attended by the leader of Opposition in National Assembly Syed Khursheed Ahmed Shah, Senator Raza Rabbani and Murad Ali Shah and federal ministers Ishaq Dar, Zahid Hamid and Fawad Hassan.

The two leaders discussed the dialogue with Taliban, Karachi Operation and the anti-terrorism law.

The two leaders also discussed the civil and military relations.

Former president Asif Ali Zardari later attended the luncheon hosted in his honour by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
