Zardari Reference Case: Farooq Naek completes arguments

ISLAMABAD: Defence lawyer Farooq H. Naek completed his arguments in the Reference Case against fomer President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari on Wednesday (today) while National Accountability Bureau (NAB) asked the Accountability Court for time to file their counter-arguments in the case, ARY News reports.

The hearing of the case was resumed in the accountability court today. Defence Counsel Farooq H. Naek told the court that the cases against Asif Ali Zardari were filed when Saif-ur-Rehman was Chairman NAB.

He further added that his client's name was included in the Exit Control List (ECL) and he was off-loaded from the aircraft two times as well.

Farooq H. Naek told the media after the hearing that his arguments in all of the five references have been completed. He added that the cases against Zardari were false due to which his wife Benazir Bhutto had to face exiled whereas Asif Zardari was sent to jail.

"Now NAB will provide counter-arguments", he added.
