KARACHI: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) co-Chairman, Asif Ali Zardari has said that MQM Chief, Altaf Hussain is the leader of a major political party and the matter of his arrest is a sensitive one – ARY News reports.
According to details, former President, Asif Ali Zardari stressed on the need of a transparent trial. He appealed the Government of Pakistan to provide assistance to Altaf Hussain.
He expressed solidarity with the MQM in this difficult time.
On the other hand, MQM leaders have negated the reports of Altaf Hussain’s arrest.
Nadeem Nusrat, a member of MQM Raabita Committee London, said that the MQM Chief is at his residence here, while Barrister Farogh Naseem has also said that there is no reality in the reports of Altaf Hussain’s address.
MQM leaders have advised the party workers to remain calm, peaceful and to stay united. They further asked the workers to stay in touch with party leadership and vowed to provide all the updates on the matter as received.
Thousands of MQM workers have gathered at the party secretariat, Nine-Zero, to receive first hand information about their leader and to express solidarity with him.
