England all out on 136 in Brisbane Test

BRISBANE: Mitchell Johnson took 4 wickets in the innings as England were back in the pavilion with 136 runs on the scoreboard during the 2nd day of the first Ashes Test on Friday, ARY News reports.

 

Mitchell Johnson, the Australian pacer, dismissed Michael Carberry, Jonathan Trott, Joe Root and Graeme Swann in his 17 overs. Ryan Harris took the wickets of Alastair Cook, Kevin Pieterson and Stuart Broad. Nathan Lyon took 2 wickets and Peter Siddle took one wicket.

 

Carberry was the top scorer for the team with 40 followed by Broad’s 32. Kevin Pieterson, in his 100th test, contributed 18 runs in England’s innings whereas English Captain Alastair Cook scored 13 runs.

 

Australia were dismissed on 295 runs on the first day of the test match. They lead by 183 runs as the first pair of the batsmen are at the crease on 24/0.
