ISLAMABAD: Just when Republican Donald Trump was sending shockwaves to the world with a stunning triumph in the United States presidential elections and people were finding it tough to accept the inevitable, Imran Khan was signalling Pakistan to wake up and smell the coffee.

It’s Trump. A wealthy real-estate developer and former reality TV host defeated heavily favoured Hillary Clinton in Tuesday’s presidential election, ending eight years of Democratic rule and sending the US on a new, uncertain path.

Worried a Trump victory could excite people in the homeland, Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) wants Pakistanis to fix their focus.

On the other hand, Chairman Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto Zardari was also quick to congratulate Trump, briefly introducing himself.

Bilawal also wished Clinton best of luck and appreciated her courage to fight till the end.

Former President Pervez Musharraf also patted on Trump’s back with his tweet.
