KARACHI: National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser on Friday said establishment of economic zones will generate employment opportunities and improve socio-economic condition of people.
“With the transfer of technology from China and establishment of economic zones, employment opportunities will be generated as a result of which socio-economic condition of people will be improved,” he said while talking to Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of National Peoples Congress Zhang Chunxian in Islamabad.
The NA speaker said results of the recent visit of Prime Minister Imran Khan to China would prove long lasting.

He said cooperation between the two countries would be further enhanced by implementation of agreements during the visit.
Last month while highlighting the focus of the government, Minister for Planning, Development & Reforms (PD&R) Makhdoom Khusro Bakhtiar said it was top priority of the government to jump-start special economic zones (SEZs).
“It is our top priority to jump-start SEZs, and Rashakai Special Economic Zone will be the first one in the line,” he said.
The CRBC, a Chinese state-owned company has already signed a Memorandum of Understating and an engagement agreement with the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government to jointly develop Rashakai SEZ.
