The chief minister was addressing media after monitoring the security measures for Ashura procession in the city.

“It was the due responsibility of the provincial government to avoid any untoward incident in the city as 27,000 foreign nationals were visiting the city’s Saddar area amid presence of their [Bohra] community leader,” Shah said.

He also apologised the masses for the inconvenience caused due to stringent security measures in the city, adding the measures were put in place in view of the persisting security threats.
