ISLAMABAD: Important decision regarding extension in Assets Declaration Scheme deadline to be taken within 48 hours, as the deadline set by the federal government is expiring on June 30, ARY News reported on Friday.
The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has said they have no information yet regarding extension in the deadline. The scheme’s deadline can be extended by an ordinance, the country’s supreme tax collection body said.
It is worth mentioning here that, Prime Minister Imran Khan on Thursday hinted at extending the deadline of the Asset Declaration Scheme.
Speaking in state TV’s special transmission on the government’s asset declaration scheme, PM had urged the nation to play its role in taking the country out of debt ambush.
PM Khan had said people are afraid that their tax money wouldn’t be utilized in the right way as they don’t have faith in the working of Federal Board of Revenue (FBR).

The federal government on June 1 introduced the Assets Declaration Scheme, with an aim to help people benefited from it by whitening their concealed assets.
Chairman Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Shabbar Zaidi has already declared that assets declared through the scheme won’t be used for any other purpose, neither will be presented as evidence in any of the case.
