Farah Khan 'ecstatic' over success of 'Manwa Laage'

“I am ecstatic! It’s the first song we recorded two years ago,” said the director.

Featuring Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, Sonu Sood, Abhishek Bachchan, Boman Irani and Vivaan Shah, the romantic song has crossed over 3 million YouTube views in four days.

“Arijit [Singh] was relatively lesser known then. Vishal-Shekhar and Irshad Kamil have done a fabulous job and I am happy that people are also loving the picturisation of the song.”

Lyricist Irshad Kamil added: “It reaffirms my belief that when simple words come straight from the heart they seep into the hearts effortlessly.

“I want to thank listeners for the love they have shown towards ‘Manwa Laage’ as they are the true judge of a creation.”

The music video sees Shah Rukh Khan’s clothes catch fire each time he comes into the proximity of Padukone.

Happy New Year is their third film together after Om Shanti Om and Chennai Express.
