KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan leaders Farooq Sattar, Amir Khan and others appeared in the anti-terrorism court on Saturday in a case pertaining to attack on ARY News and other media houses after the hate speech of the party’s founder on August 22, 2016.

Dr. Farooq Sattar, Amir Khan, Kunwar Naveed, Shahid Pasha and other accused appeared before the court in the case hearing.

Investigation officer of the case and prosecution witness Judicial Magistrate Kaleemullah were also present in the hearing.

The counsels of accused cross-examined the witness.

Judicial Magistrate Kaleemullah had conducted identification parade of the accused and he produced all record of the parade in the court.

The judge also ordered the accused released on bail to submit the copy of their national identity cards in the court.

The court summoned the complainant of the case in the next hearing, which has been fixed at May 11.

Dr Farooq Sattar and other accused had refuted charges of attacking media houses and facilitating the hate speech of the party’s founder when the court indicted them in the case in November last year.

The court has already declared nine accused including founder of MQM and others as proclaimed offenders.

The workers of MQM went berserk and attacked the office of ARY News and other media houses on August 22, 2016 evening, after the party’s London-based leader’s vitriolic speech against the state agencies and the media.
